Initial situation
Rural areas at risk of abandonment need to be revitalized by reorganizing agricultural activities and providing opportunities for young women. Social farming is an employment opportunity and has proven to be an effective tool for diversifying agricultural income and generational renewal.
Target groups and their benefits
The SOFAR project is aimed at young women in rural areas. The aim is to support them in developing their entrepreneurial skills, particularly in the field of social farming, in order to diversify agricultural businesses and find new employment opportunities. The SoFar project is also aimed at university partners, with the aim of using them as catalysts for social farming.
Project goal
The aim of the SOFAR project is to promote the employment of social initiatives in agriculture and thus promote the participation of disadvantaged groups in rural areas. These include, in particular, adults with disabilities, senior citizens, refugees, women and the rural population without access to other labor markets.
Role of SoWiBeFo
SoWiBeFo manages internal quality assurance, coordinates the initial study and also supports dissemination.
